The Mini Police project is a weekly programme designed to support at-risk children who face deprivation and criminal influences, prior to reaching the age of criminal responsibility. The programme provides educational sessions covering topics such as drugs, knife crime, and county lines. Additionally, the children benefit from visits by various departments of the Constabulary, including the Mounted Branch, fostering positive interactions with Police employees.
Furthermore, the programme culminates in an award ceremony, recognising the participants’ achievements and progress throughout the duration of the initiative. The project received match funding from The Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, further solidifying its commitment to early intervention strategies aimed at steering vulnerable children away from potential criminal pathways.
