The Keyless Vehicle Security project aims to protect individuals at risk of keyless vehicle crimes. Vehicles equipped with smart or passive keys are particularly vulnerable to “Relay Theft,” where criminals use electronic devices to capture and clone key signals, making it appear as though the key is present.
This type of theft typically involves pairs of thieves targeting specific makes and models of vehicles. The entire process can take as little as 60 seconds, and for safety reasons, the engine will not cut off when the key is out of range.
To combat this issue, we are providing Faraday pouches and informative vehicle security leaflets to raise awareness and enhance safety. These resources are being distributed by the police through targeted outreach.
